Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
ZOMG!!! Awesome pic!
yay! is that in strar trek? a borg tactical cupe? yay!(first post, too!)
Well, that’s horrifying.
Lady B. said she was going to post something extra-scary for Halloween. I’d say she’s outdone herself this time. The horror, the horror!
oooooooooooh! aaaaaaaah! three cheers for lady b! huzzah! huzzah! huzzah!
Oh my… that is a bit frightening.
Wonderfully artistic, though.
cool!
Ahhh, the advantages of doing homework and checking MB at the same time. First posts.
Eek! That’s flamablamablous!!
For inspiration I simply asked myself, what would be Robert’s worst nightmare? If even the Borg could be assimilated…and the stars, too, have turned hot pink.
Robert told us, at the Kokonvention, that sometimes the AAAS building (where he works) is sometimes called the Borg. Or something like that…
We call the AAAS building the Borg Cube, because it’s blocky and black. This is much, much worse. Resistance is Museless!
Hmm. Are some of you pondering what I’m pondering? Helicopter drop…buckets of hot pink paint…lots and lots of buckets….
13- GAAAAA!
398 By Grant on last thread- I agree. We should try to do something. No ideas here either, though.
And congrats to everone who had a good day back there, there were 3 or 4 but I don’t remember who all wrote. Now you all shall listen to my yesterday.
Get up around 10, go to ice rink for practice, do 50 push-ups for off-ice (uhhh my arms are dead), have prctice, do about 40 more push-ups on the ice in equipment, finish practice, get off ice. Then we went to the pro shop to look at sticks because mine broke ( ) last sunday, which is vveryvery sad. But my new one is reeeealy pretty. The top of the shaft (stright bit on top) is black, then fades to white and has about 3 feet of white then there are green waves bout 1 1/2 feet from the bottom, with below that colored green. Then coming up from the blade (curvy bit on bottom) there are pretty silver swirls, traveling up it. Soooo cool.
Anyway, then I got home (around 3 ish) and went to play tennis with Ros and Mary, and that was cool. C invited us to go to a haunted house she helped bild around 8, but Mary couldn’t go so it was just C, Me, Ros, and H. Ros drove me there and we wer ecracking up almost the whole ride, partly because she says a lot of things I can twist to insult her with (not in a mean way, a fun way). SO we got there, wait in not one but 2 lines, and finally start. I went in fromt because haunted houses are cool and I like talking to the people inside . But in the first room we eneded up not being able to find the way out, the door was hidden in a corner and it was dark. There was also a guy in there all in black and after about 30 seconds of stumbling around in the dark he stood up and had cool green lights on his face. A voice changer, too. He let me sit in his chair in the corner
The rest of the house was win also (oh, it was in a catholic school with a church attached, btw). Highlights-
– Going through thin halway that ended with a Guy WHo Banged on Bucket With Stick, resulting in the conversation: Me: “Hi Guy WHo Bangs on Bucket! (yes, I called him that, I don’t know his name) I’m [my name]!” GwBoB: *stops banging* “Hey, what’s up?” Me: “Technically, a preposition.” GwBoB: *blank look on face* “Um…” Me: “Bye!” *guy bangs on bucket some more*
– The last room had cool clowns in it, C (who helped build) had told them earlier to go after Ros (who was locked to my elbow), so there were these two guys right in our faces, one of them looked really cool, his face was white with black diamonds on it and he had a cool hat with bells. I was playing with said bells as he shoved chansaws at our necks
– Getting lost in the room after to clowns and not being able to find the right door out. It took us several tries… at least it was better than last year, me and another group of friends actually had to have someone show us the way out. Hehe.
After that, C snuck us down the stairs behind the ticket booth and we ran through the school to the chapel, which looked really cool and spooky in the dark. H sort of fell down a stair, but she was okay. My phone rang though and I was like “AHCRAPwhatdoIdo?” because we were being all sneaky-like. After being in there we cut through a cafeteria and went outside, then walked through the graveyeard to a playground where I skipped around and swang on a swingset. It was really cool, the moon was very bright and it was warm and perfect. If it’s nice next weekend we were talking about going back and doing a photoshoot with pictures of us in the cemetary and near the church (awesome awesome tree shadows a night), and I’d probably have time to do so which is amazing. I hope so. I found a good place at my house to have one too, on a hill with long grass and boulders on top. But anyway.
It was so much fun. I don’t normally do that kind of thing, go out with people, I usually just stay home but it was worth it. Time to conclude this long post. Nutella and dark choklit cookies (mmm, they’re soo good) to anyone who read all of it
just imagine, its lazer eyes evaporating the earth! on a side note: did anyone notice iwas gone/miss me?
i don’t know if i’ll be on this week because i have practicaly no access to the computer as my mother is working.
I found that I couldn’t post about ten minutes ago, and came back to find 12 comments already… You guys are insane!
Anyway, @Glassboro, Alice, and Jadestone in either part I or II, how do we do this?
/gradster(1)/
Ahhhh! It’s so hot here! Mid-70’s in mid-October is not to be expected! It’s not entirely pleasant, either! How unnatural this is! I hate Ohio weather.
Hey! Guess what! I’m moderating an hour of the culminating event of the online K12 conference! You guys should come!
Can I post a link, GAPA? It’s really, cool, plus it’s educational!
We need more kids there too, the adults are taking over!
/gradster(1)/
@ Jadestone, 15 – I like your response to “What’s up?”
Very clever, and still technically true. I’ll have to use that from now on, of course with your permission…?
/gradster(1)/
P.S. HA! I just triple posted (why is that such taboo anyway? It’s not like it’s problematic…)
16- Yes, I did notice you were missing, but I didn’t think it would help anything to ask where you were. Because if you weren’t here, then you wouldn’t answer.
So, I actually have a question for you guys: Have you been celebrating my birthday?
Tell the truth!
I actually really want to know! I don’t mind if it’s “No” but did you right after I left?
If not, well… I actually haven’t had a birthday party/gift for about three years now – I’m too lazy to figure out what I want to do! (meaning it doesn’t really matter anyway, but I miss the *shudder* “choklit” *shudder* (please never make me spell anything like that ever again)) I know, it’s kind of sad… But I think when I have my 15th (which I plan to celebrate) I’ll have a party for my 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th all together… What a time that’ll be.
Well, anyway, after quadruple-posting, unless I think of anything else, back to homework.
/gradster(1)/
22 (gradster) – I don’t really celebrate MBers’ birthdays, in a way of, for example, making a cake or something, but I do wear your colors (I have them written down on my calendar so I don’t forget) and imagine what sorts of pies are being thrown in your face…
ARGH! *falls outta chair* Sc-scary bun-bunnie…
15-That sounds like the best stick in the WORLD. *wants*
Ok, Ok, I just have to express my sincere admiration for how amazing the HPB Borg pic is. Lady Bunniful, that is truly frightening.
/gradester(1)/ or whatever your name is what’s the K12 conferance??
guess who watched chitty chitty bang bang on friday (along with courtjester and Seussical(a children’s group production which my friend was in)) well me! *hums your my little chu-chi face*
25-We haven’t heard from you in a while!
Does anyone have ideas of what we could do for Alice?
26~I LOVE THE COURT JESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry. But, yeah, cute movie.
Lady B.~ You are amazing, I am now so terrified that all memories of the horror movies I watched last night were driven out of my head as soon as I saw your picture.
ho hum, I should be off the computer a minute ago, but I’m not….oops.
28~ I really don’t know. I wish I did.
I’d have her come here, but seeing as I live in a teeny little house on the opposite side of the continent from where she lives, I don’t think that would help very much. *sigh* *sends more choklit to Alice*
Sorry, Robert, but this was simply not within my powers to resist.
31~ The AAAS never looked better. I hope nobody minds….. I think it needs the Resistence is Museless slogan written on it though. Maybe somewhere on the 11th floor…..
gradster- We don’t triple post because it’s annoying.
So, we pwned at Mineola yesterday. Not that the other band in national class was the one we’re in serious competition with. Saturday:
Got there a half hour early, like we’re supposed to do only I always come 15 minutes early, which still works but I’m rushed. Walked to the stadium/turf field with Charlie and Brian, other section members. We found a lizard-like creature on the practice field. It was orange with dots. I think it was a newt but some people called it a salamander too. Charlie named it Maurice Francis *his last name*. They didn’t let me hold it but they gave it to Kristen later and she did. It was so cute! Later some clarinets found a brown one they named Cupcake and penguini found a little brown one, but we had to release them all before we started. The morning was spent practicing an 8-to-5 step size, back and forth, and then some show detail work. Lunch at 12-ish, changed into uniforms, did a thank-you performance for the chaperones. Then we changed back out of uniforms, got on buses for 2.5 hours… penguini and I talked about random things and listened to music etc. We performed again and all that involves. Our final score was 91.75, the other band had 88.something, it isn’t up on the NYSFBC website yet and I don’t remember. On the bus home penguini and I talked more and traded stories from school plays and the like. We got back about an hour and a half early, at 12:20.
18- Hey, it’s 83 here. But last night it was really nice out so I’m not complaining to much.
20- Feel free. It’s what my 8th grade english teacher used to say.
28- Well, someone mentioned that their parents were letting her send alice and Amazon card or somesuch.
Personally, I think it’d be cool if we got her a bunch of the back issues of Muse, if she lost the ones she had.
.
Went for a walk in the woods, checked out that place I was thinking of taking pictures of. Gorgeous. Got burs in my hair though, but thankfully I had brushed it before I went out so they came out easily.
32- Or the hedges on top trimmed into bunny form I love it, Lady B. Just immagen walking down the street in a hurry, suddenly looking up and – bam.
That is the Coooooolest pic ever!!! I think the beam that the bunny is shooting out of its eye is a ray that will turn all the dogs and cats of the world into pink bunnies! At last…. THE PLIGHT TO FIND THE BETTER OF THE TWO WILL BE OVER!!!! Bwahahahaha!!!!
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts….uh, I mean, lots of old Muses. One I just pulled randomly from the shelf above my head is a near-mint condition of “Taming the Horse.”
31 (Rebecca) – That’s flamablamablously flamablamablous!!!
All it’s missing is the lasers
*bows* Exceedingly terrifying pictures, Lady Bunniful.
KAGY IS BAAAAACK!!! YAYSERS!!!!
31-After converting New York City from a grey, drab city into a pink powerhouse, the Hot Pink Bunnies start their work on Washington DC. The AAAS building is the first to fall into the HPB’s overwhelming power. Resistance is Museless.
10- Le gasp! My thoughts exactly upon loading up the main page and seeing the Bunny Cube! “OMG IT’S A BUNNY CUBE! IT’S GONE BACK IN TIME TO ASSIMILATE THE EARTH ON THE DAY OF FIRST CONTACT!”
12- I have a new ideal workplace environment!
13- Heh heh heh…..Set phasers to pink?
31- *hero!*
WOW THOSE PICTURES = AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
*is in love with hpbs*
Red-tailed HAWK
OH MAIGOD! Love the Bunnyborg. xD
fuhahaha. I finished my homework!!
Fire and blood! The school calendar says it’s OGT week, but I don’t know if I can go to school later than usual.
Riker: “Captain, I’m picking up hostile readings.”
Picard: “The Borg?”
R: “It looks like it at first, sir, but there’s something strange about that tactical cube. There are two projections on its dorsal side… almost like… ears…”
BLAMMMM!!!
Data: “Shields at 50 per cent!”
P: “Get us out of here!”
D: “Someone’s beaming onto the bridge, sir.”
P: “Past our shields? How?”
D: “I don’t know, sir. They say they come in piece. And they’re carrying towels.”
To be continued…
44-OGTs were fun times…three hours of playing cards with chris balch and lizzy (chris balch is just chris balch, ok? not chris, not balch, chris balch. it just is)
how about B&N cards? do them over email and alice can shop off the online store and get books uber-cheap (books are rather flammable, as well as quite muserish) i should do that. do i still have the email of the alice? hmm…
indeed i do sometime tomorrow then, because i have to go sleep now. byez, ko-konspirators (the building looks flamablamablous)
You can send B&N cards online? That sounds great. I’ll talk to parentals about it tomarrow if it’s okay with GAPAs/Alice.
I say, does anyone use any sort of instant messanger?
And does anyone like
Or the numbers
[Silly us. –Admin.]
37 (Grant)- And I’m pretty sure I’ll have the back issues you don’t, too. I’ve got all of them except January and December ’97.
B&N/Borders card sounds good. We should ask Alice which store she’s more liable to shop at before getting her a card, I think.
49 (Grant)- AIM–why do you ask?
Zero is my fourth-favorite number.
boo! I’m evacuating a fire right now..
What? where? What’s happening?
51) oh gosh I hope you’re okay. Seriously…best of luck. You live in California too then? I was just about to say something about that.
For MBers who don’t live here, there’s a state of emergency called for all the fires…there’s more than a dozen, a lot of them in San Diego.
I don’t know what’s going on with where i am. There’s not a really close fire but the sky is getting darker and the wind isn’t letting up much. The light’s all weird cause it’s going through smoke.
My pool is turning black from the ash.
Yes, nerdz_rool lives near San Diego.
I have loads of back issues that I’ll be happy to donate to Alice once she has a permanent address. Right now I suspect her family doesn’t want to lug around any extra weight.
I was just going to ask about the fires! Doesn’t Rosanne live in that sort of area? I’m not familiar with the various distances between places, but this is bad… We can’t have more MBers with burned-out houses!
My town was on fire last month but my house didn’t go!
*has firephobia*
Red-tailed HAWK
No, Rosanne lives in Northern California, near San Francisco, but she’s visiting relatives in Germany right now. (That’s why you haven’t seen her around lately.) I haven’t heard of any fires in either area.
56-Good! *pies Rosanne for her luckiness*
*sends virtual water and fire trucks to other MBers*
Red-tailed HAWK
49- Whoa! I seriously am unable to believe that got through! I am utterly disbelieving! I thought that cheap and silly post would be shot down a mile away! Bejaysus! I am incredulous! This is hilarious! I might as well have come out and said what my instant messenger screen name is! For crying out loud!
58- Is it really that exciting?
In any case, I don’t know his SN, and I doubt many people bothered to remember it.
Only good thing about today was finally settig off our rockets in math. I don’t know why I’m feeling so meh lately. *sigh*
It was hilarious for about ten minutes. After I clicked “Submit,” not the best choice in judgment, I’ll admit, I thought “That post is going down the drain.” Apparently not. But then, since I made such a big deal out of how funny it was, it is now gone. Yes indeed.
One would think that, in view of all that the hard-working Administrators do for them, MuseBloggers might consider going out of their way to make GAPAs’ lives a little easier. But noooo….
61- Actually, the first time I read it, I cracked up. Best thing I read all day.
63- Actually, second best. I forgot about the fact that the RED SOX ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!
Oh, it seems don’t affect my home right now…I’m back home. The fires turned away from my neighborhood!
53-Ew. That’s kind of nasty… black pool.
My friend had a sign over her pool that went like this:
Welcome to our
OOL!
That’s right, there’s no P. We’d like to keep it that way.
All this talk about fire reminds me of when I was driving to the library and someone tossed a cigarette into the ditch in front of my house. There’s a lot of leaves and shrubbery there, and it’s all dry, so it caught fire like it was greased. Dad got a call on his cell and we swerved around and drove home. We live next to a Jewish Temple. We seriously doubt it was an accident. There was fire all the way down the road. A cigarette dosn’t travel backwards.
28- what happened to alice?
(67) Her house burned down. She and her parents and her sister all escaped unharmed, but their pets (cats and parakeets) all died, and the family lost almost everything.
64- I’m extremely happy about that, because it means all of the Indians fans in my area will SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!!! It helps not to care about baseball. I stopped caring in 2nd grade when the Indians lost to the Marlins. I got really excited about that one, but when we lost, I thought, “You know what? It’s a game, in which people run around in a circle. Why am I so disappointed?”
funny little insite into my life: all my comics seem to somehow relate back to muse/mb. why? me don’t know. I was doing this comic that was supposed to be a short(5page) chitty chitty bangbang spoof but turned into this muse meets chity chitty bang bang. grrrr….. I WANT MY COMICS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *crys*
Your assimilation is progressing nicely.
“Mostly Harmless: subjugating humanity, one brain at a time.”
54 (Robert) – she still has her house in Washington, though, which you might be able to send them to.
62 (Robert) – I go out of my way to make the GAPAs lives easier…when I have nothing else to do…such as finding the links for some people’s posts on the “Don’t Forget These Threads” thread. But it’s fun, so I don’t know if that counts.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH! l’ve been shot! Another MB favorite l can’t stand!
65) oh I’m glad then. luckily it’s just smoky and windy over here…
oh my gosh!!! i love the pictures!!!!
I am not good at ideas, so I am not much help when it comes to coming up with ideas for helping Alice. Hm……*racks brain* I am trying to think of how we could have a special day with a special thread that is tons of fun to make her feel better, but I got nothing. And I cant really do anything outside the blog since I dont have her email or anything.
Poor alice. l’m close to tears. No one l knew ever had a house that burned down.
GAPAs, can you forward the banner to her?
62-We’re keeping you alert, and giving you plenty of mental challenges to keep you busy. You’ll thank us when all your friends are senile
jk, *makes the virtual GAPAs virtual life virtually easier* how’s that?
77-That makes all the difference.
I got a stupid cut on my chin and everybody at Karate is like “OMG, does it hurt?” and Mom’s like “Go help your father bring in groceries! NOW!” the one person who should have sympathy dosn’t!
And I fought Corey. Ow. *rubs numb head*
Corey?
Robert, just tell me what to do to help.
78 – I can’t help laughing, last belt testing at Karate I accidentally hit one of my best friends in the face because she forgot to block. She was fine, but managed to get back at me by stabbing me in the neck at fencing, which actually does hurt a lot, especially when the rubber tip on the sword comes off. (I was painfully reminded of how much it hurt yesterday, when the same thing happened while I was fencing some random guy)
68 – *stares at screen in shock* No way. *cries* GAPAS, If I send something to you, can you forward it to her? Please? It’s gapas@musefanpage.com, right?
It’s gapa (singular) @ musefanpage.com.
80- You fence and do karate? l’m impressed! l just fence and improvise my own marshall art, which is kind of stupid. l can tottaly relate to the neck thing.
82-Correction: Martial Arts.
33- Yay marching band! Are you on the East Coast and if you are what division/group are you in?
Anyways, hey everyone! I haven’t been on here for ages, but well, I am now… sooooooo… yeah.
Marching band is going pretty well. We got an 89.45 at our last competition which was pretty good I guess considering two people slipped and fell in the diamond cutter and managed to get back up so… yeah. Anyways, it’s taking up most of my free time and I’m always very tired nowadays… oh well! I will make time for visiting here… hopefully.
School’s good too. I got my first B of the year last week on a stupid math quiz. *sigh* Ah well…
Awwww, I feel really bad now about Alice! Is there anything I can do to help?
Oh yeah. Sorry, l was think about a guy named marshall.
Thinking.
(72) It definitely counts, Purple Panda! We appreciate the help — and better yet if you enjoy it.
I’ll stop that. Each time, it’s intended as something of a joke, and I fully expect it to die. I’ll stop now. Sorry.
At least, until April. As it says in Rule 3: If you are college-age or older, you must identify yourself as an adult by supplying your full name on your comment form.
(88) Note that there is a rider to that clause, to wit:
“Long-term MuseBloggers who turn 18 but want to continue using their pseudonyms for reasons of privacy may ask special permission from the administrators.”
89- *asks special permision in advance for next April 30th*
Gapas, if we email things to you, can you forward them to Alice?
We can, in a good cause.
Great! Now to convince my parents.
61- WHAT’D I MISS? WHAT’D HE SAY???
Yay, I got into Science Olympiad!!
My brother’s going to see Bam Margera at the skate shop. Whoever he is… and he saw Shaun White last month. Skateboarding makes no sense to me…
so the fires are in California right? because i found some articles in the paper about hospitals and jails filled with smoke and one person died i think.
By the Ancestor! If anyone here watches Pure Pwnage, then they have “Pro at Cooking” with Dave to look forward to. Utterly ridiculous.
Owe damn. I hae to sign up for all district band. I hate playing flute, and I really don’t need more excuse to.
94- Science Olympiad? Last year I was on the team and we made it to State. I got a silver medal in bug identification! We’re holding tryouts this Thursday. I got in last year, so hopefully I’ll get in again this year.
95) yes they evacuated a prison and there was sadly one fatality already…this is horrible because in 2003 it was pretty much the same area that burned too, so the people have to go through it all over again.
98- w00t! what’s science olympiad?
99- aw man! poor alice!
yay I got post eleventy-one (I have always wanted to say that)
94-Nice!
98-Double nice!
I hate my English teacher. He needs to get another job. Preferably on the Frogstar.
Today I was walking home from school with Jane, Kathleen, and Nicole, when Jane essentially had an intense asthma attack, sat down hard, and blacked out. I freaked out and went and got the fire station people, who drove across the road with an ambulance, a fire truck, and a patrol car. Incredible. I guess they wanted to test it out.
Hello! Back for an hour! Or rather, three minutes, having already used my hour up. Shame I can’t be on longer, because if I was I would read this whole thread as I am accustomed to doing. Oh well. I should have been researching RLS for my hour instead.
Oop! One minute! Bye!
A fire in california? South, right? The closest thing there is to smoke up here is fog. Not in my town, but in SF. Billows and billows. My nickname for SF is the realm of fog.
Did the GAPAs send alice my banner thingy?
l took out the zepata. l’m gradually switching back to plain agagabagabag.
Why is there a MBer on Who’s here named Heroine addict? l find it odd.
31-Oh, yes…gorgeous! (Also, sweet main pic!)
Anyway, can someone remind me of the threads on which I’m posting/need to post? I’ve forgotten, I think…
(I love talking with “proper” English…’tis such fun!)
[looks at shadowkat strangely]
ah, yes. Nice picture…was it…the bunniful one? I haven’t been on, sorry…this time it’s because of homework and my now-obvious addiction…to….MAPLESTORY….ARRRRRGGGGHHH!must…play…
Cheerios are funny. They have little holes in the middle.
WE ARE THE BUNNY RESISTANCE IS FUTILE PREPEARE TO BE PIED.
oh, yeah. I just got a mouth full of metal today. I don’t mind the braces too much, but the retainer is killing me…I’m keeping track of when I can get it off at home, and and muse blog…180 more days..
106- they mean Heroine like Heros. and Heroines.
94-yay! science olympiad! I got into state last year…
101) no, these are different fires to the best of my knowledge.
105) several fires not just one…
I did Science Olympiad too! It was fun, though I didn’t win anything. I did the Naked Egg Drop, and our platform was really well built, but my partner dropped the egg and it didn’t even hit the platform. Oh well…
Are you talking about elementary school SO? That seems like something I did in 4th grade. Sorry, I don’t know your age. We’re talking about competition SO. In elementary school you do similar things, but only for a day. With the SO we’ve mentioned, you compete with schools from across the state (and, if you’re good enough, the nation). We train all year for three or four events, one practice weekly.
Wait; we are talking about competition Science Olympiad, aren’t we??
ooh poor Alice, I wish I could do something.
Meh I just dashed off an essay. I hate essays. It makes no sense, but it should improve my grade. (i don’t see why I need to as I have an A, oh well)
It is weird. I can go weeks with out getting any homework and then suddenly I will have 8 hours of it.
So everyone is ok in CA? Axa said she is getting smoke and wind, hopefully that won’t bring in embers…nerdz_r00l was able to go back to his house! W0w!
We are making emergency preparations in case we should ever have to leave.
Red-tailed HAWK
The briefest philosophy lesson ever:
Orangutans are smarter than humans. Why work in a depressing, faceless office building all day when you could eat and sleep in a tree?
Dolphins and pigs are proven to be smarter than orangutangs. A little bird is continually smashing into my window. He has done it five times now. I wonder if he has a death wish?
122- If you put colored shiney ribons on the outside of the window, they don’t do that as often. Twist the ribbons at attach them at top and bottom if you want birds to stop.
82 – Yay! I know, it hurts so much, even if you aren’t scratched.
97 – On Monday I was wandering around my old school and somehow ended up playing my trombone with the band, even though I hadn’t played for about three years. I did a pretty bad job, needless to say.
103 – Woah. A bit of an overreaction, if I do say so myself.
109 – Maplestory? What’s that?
110 – I know, I’ve always wondered how they manage to make them that way.
112 – Braces, gotta hate them. I get mine off in about two weeks! Yay!
117 – Sounds like what I’m doing for Model UN, except with politics.
119 – That reminds me of my homework load, except it goes from 4 hours to 10 hours instead of none to 8.
121 – That statement is just about the only thing I’ve seen all day that makes the slightest sense. (read “Ishmael”, it says a lot about monkeys being smarter than humans)
*sigh* I just bombed my Bio test. Again. But I got to meet a bunch of awesome English people today! They all had the coolest accents. They were trying to imitate American accents, which they say are rather whiney, and we were trying to imitate British ones, and we all ended up sounding like a bunch of idiots!
I just started a pwnsome comic called Bad Human, No Biscuit. It’s about ALIENS!
122- You’re just saying that about dolphins because of the thing only they, humans, and bonobos do.
122-Or keep the curtains closed, move feeders away from windows, and don’t wash the window very often. Also, the way landscaping is outside of the window can affect it. Bushes very close to the window may stop the birds from hitting it.
Attaching hawks or spiderweb patterns to the window have not been proven effective….
Windows are a major problem, and also car mirrors. I have seen cardinals intent on nearly killing themselves, or their reflections, before…
And CATS. Whew. I’ve got the figure somewhere…

Today I had a science test. It was boring, except for the last essay question, which asked why the atmosphere was good. I had been sitting outside nearly all day in the cold rain without a jacket or an umbrella, so I must have been pretty crazy when I wrote at the conclusion of my essay: So yay atmosphere! Well, I got an A anyway, so it’s all good Ooh and I’m also currently playing feed the head, THE weirdest wame in the world. And it’s pointless, too! Well, my dad woke up and my mom and grandma are home, so time to go back to homework. Bye!
I just got word that I need braces. *uuber mad*
I finished my Spanish poster which was supposed to be done about a week ago. A bit late, maybe?
YAY! I’m back for a little bit. At the liberary, fast computers, roasting in my sweatshirt that was nesessary outside, trying to catch up on the billions of posts that have gone on since I was gone……. Phew.
I’ve had my braces off for more than a year now. teeheehee…
So yeah… My uncle Bob (yes his name is Bob) lives in CA just 4 miles from where those fires are, but he emailed us saying the wind shifted or something so he should be okay.
It’s raining here. it’s amazing I might actually have a Friday off if the football game gets cancelled. Yessssss!!!!
Oh and if anyone hasn’t noticed yet, yes I am back from my prolonged absence. No, I didn’t quit the blog when I left, I’ve just been pretty busy. And lazy. teeheehee…. So yeah.
How’s life everyone?
Mom made me wear an extrememly nerdy red raincoat because of the stuipd (don’t hurt me!) rain.
And once again, Dad wouldn’t let me buy anything remotly resembling a skull.
132- They shouldn’t make nerdy raincoats. I had a pastel-striped one that I didn’t realize was nerdy until I gave it to my cousin.
131- Hola! Welcome back!
Well… we have this ENOURMOUS sliding glass door that whe don’t use and it has been converted to a Bird Window, cuz my dad rigged up a sorta feeder station w. tons o feeders right outside. It’s pretty cool. But, this SAME BIRD crashing OVER and OVER… i mean, seriously.
Gwen’s a babe now! Okay, just kidding. That’ll never happen. I just got bangs, and let me say… what a difference. I keep playing with them, which isn’t good, but it’s fun.
My braces are making me miserable. When they’re not making it impossible to eat, they’re making the inside of my mouth resemble raw hamburger, and currently I have these things in called Jumpers. They’re pushing the teeth on my lower jaw forward, but they also keep me from opening my mouth more than an inch. No kidding. My jaw literally cannot drop more than an inch open.
Hi Musers! i’ve been away for too long. I was on a trip to visit relatives in Germany – and they have no computers. So I was MuseBlogless for three weeks. I missed you!!
I’ve got to catch up on what’s going on around here. Anyone care to summarize?
113- (Wid) That’s kind of stupid, unless you knew them…
137- Guten Tag, Roseanne! Or, I suppose, Guten Nacht would be more appropriate.
It’s been the usual. We all fling pies and satiric witticisms at one another. However, you should know: our beloved Alice’s dwelling was burnt to the ground. Thankfully, everyone survived unscathed, but she will not appear on the blog for some time. We wish to help her and her family in some way, but we haven’t a clue as to where to begin. Any ideas, Roseanne?
136-You make me feel so much better. *dosn’t feel better*
137-Ohmygosh! You’ve been away way to long. *get’s Where’d You Go in head*
Summary: Someone has a crush on PC and Grant O, the bunny lovers have attacked with their photoshop/MS paint skills, there is now a theme park for Muse, my first thread got bumped off the front page, and sadly of all, Alice’s home burned down, killing all her pets and destroying the whole house. Choklit giving was abundent.
137- Everybody’s dead, Dave.
140- Wait, when did this happen? I wasn’t aware anyone had a crush on the Chairman. I thought I’d been paying sufficient attention.

137 (Rosanne) – welcome back!!
I would give you a summary, but it looks like there are several good ones already. Be sure to send Alice chocolate and happy thoughts!
84- New York. The director says we’re one of the best bands in the state… division 1? I don’t know. Where/what are you doing (Pennsylvania, right?) Are you in Bands of America? We’re going to Hofstra next Saturday for that…
124- Hadn’t played… three years… *shock* The last note I played was three hours ago, at the end of the show we were marching through. I don’t practice music nearly enough…
I just realized that after reading the whole thread, the only things I replied to were band-related. And my name has a marching band suffix. Hmm, wonder what that means? (where my thoughts roughly= (spaced to avoid page break) marchingbandmarchingbandmarchingbandmusicdomeboasyracuse
hofstrabandconcertmusicpracticescalesectionalglobalhomework
bandcolorseriesmarchingbandanthemfightsongmarchingbandband… ad infinitum )
Oh. I hadn’t seen that, as I usually only go on this thread. What does PC stand for? If it’s “Penty-chan,” the only one I can think of, I thought Penty-chan was a dame. No offense meant if they’re not, it’s just I thought I’d been paying enough attention to tell.
(146) PC is Prarilius Canix, who is more likely to be found on RRRs than on the random thread, though he does appear on this one.
Oh! I don’t believe I know the fellow. Hallo, Prarilius Canix, and I’m pleased to make your acquaintance. Gad, now my fatal curiosity is kicking in. I wonder who it is. I shan’t try to find out, but now I want to know.
143- Yeah, and in the past day or so, Anonymous Lover has stopped being anonymous. It’s all on the R&R thread.
(149, 148) The new one:
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1076#comment-8
137- oh you know, the usual, pies being thrown… HPBs terrorizing both counries…. uh…. GAPAs’ moderated coments..? anyways, how was germany? i’ve been to the black forest, but where were you? germany is cool, do you speak the language?
gwen, you are TOTALLY a babe. Defy all who say contrary. Bangs rock! (slapping imaginary bang-based hifive)
I Germany tidy?
Welcome back Rosanne!! *pies with welcome back pie*
136~ Ouch. I’ve never had or needed braces, but I can imagine. I’d rather not though, actually. *is sympathetic*
GRR. I had a spelling test today, and I “missed” just about all of them because my Mom said she couldn’t read my writing. She actually said that my handwriting was “horrible”. *sigh*
And now the library computer is wanting to shut me off again. Boo hiss.
131- You have an uncle named Bob! The associations for that name are tremendous. There’s purplefinch’s script, and then What About Bob?, and then…
137- Welcome back! Have a pie!
I’m off to check my email/And all my old threads on the Blo-g!
Gwen, girls with bangs pwn.
148- You don’t know PC? Wow, you’re an oldbie.
Did anyone meet heroine_addict? l really don’t think the female hero theory is true.
Hi, Rossane, I’m rather new to the museblog, but I’m very excited to be on! Germany, wow.
Alice, you’re back!!! How are you doing?
I’m back at home now, on my slow internet connection, and my familiar laptop. My last coment was rather pesimistic. Sorry, I’ve been grumpy today.
I have the Carmen Fantasy stuck in my head. Again. If I had another song in my technical ability stuck in my head like this, I’d have learned it. Ah well.
I also have to write at least 8 measures of something in 6/8 time in C major for my violin teacher. *dies* Save me.
Meh, I have an evil cold, bad enough to make me miserable, but not bad enough(according to my mom) to keep me home from school.
I just had the most hilarious phone call. A really popular guy from school called me, thinking I was Another girl by they same name, asking me about someone’s last name and when I realized his mistake and asked him about it, he hung up very quickly.
158- I’m on a library computer. ‘Tis a shame I am only alloted a single hour.
I was reciting random bits of prophecies from JS&MN in PE today.
I got my wonderful wonderful Swallows & Amazons books today. Yay!
Welcome back Rosanne!!
154-My handwriting is often bad when I rush things. Which is often the case with me and spelling. I can’t spell/define lots of odd words, I like donuts, and I like gardening. Who does this remind you of?
Well, dictionaries = pwnage.
Bangs: ack! I don’t even want to think about what they would do for my acne. The funny thing is my lyme disease medicine is supposed to help, but I haven’t noticed any improvements. Good luck to people who take it for that purpose! :O
I know I have something else to say but I can’t think…
Red-tailed HAWK
Ance? I hate that stuff, HAWK. Someone said earlier that Alice’s dwelling was burnt. Forgive me if I take this WAY too seriously, but was it because of the california fires? And Sage, I had a cold the day I started posting on the muse blog… I remember like it was last week.. Oh yeah, it WAS!!
148 – *gasp* How can you not know PC!?!?!?!? Go to some of the RRRs, he’s a pretty amazing person, and an excellent writer too.
137 – All of the other summaries, and I’ve come back after a break of about half a year, but I doubt if you remember me, .
159 – Wow, sounds like the time a really popular guy called me because he needed homework help, and I thought he was someone else and kept on calling him the wrong name! It was sooo funny, he hung up and called back about five times, :).
154 – I have “horrible” handwriting because half of the people I know don’t know how to read cursive because they all write in that bubbly printing that one girl decided to start and now all of America writes in it.
158 – I hate slow internet connections. Here, it takes me half an hour to load a three minute video on Youtube. *groans*
161 – Whenever I type or write, I accidentaly end up doing some letters before others in the words or I write the words backwards and make a ton of spelling mistakes.
Science Olympiad tryouts were today! We’ll find out the results on Monday. *gets very nervous*
161~ Bad enough that your Mom makes you redo most of your spelling?
162-Ance? Oh, wait, I see…Acne…I’m sure you and I are not alone in that…But alice lives in Washington State or somewhere up there, but it is funny timing. She said it was an electrical problem in a wooden house…
165-She sometimes makes me redo particulary bad portions….but most of my spelling comes from reading books and writing ( especially on the blog! the blog has greatly improved my typing speed and ability. practice! and Fun practice too!)
The keys on my keyboard seem to resist being depressed, not that they are sticky on the surface, but that they are stuck uderneath… underneath…
Erp, I didn’t finish that post…
*pies all*
Red-tailed HAWK
g’night all, I have to get off the computer and go practice. *sigh*
Hey, Roseanne- when you were in Germany, did you visit Frankfurt, by any chance? And if so, did you happen to get coffee from a shop that wasn’t Starbucks? And did they also serve wine?
Hi and thanks for the summaries, welcomes and welcome pies. My last note should have said that I was in England as well as Germany. In England I drank a lot of tea, saw beautiful art (including the Blue Rigi) and made my way to the middle of the maze at Hampton Court Palace — where I wished I had brought a Muse so I could have had a photo snapped of me reading Muse at that historic spot. The maze is surprisingly easy. Though I had looked at the pathway online before I did it, so I guess that wasn’t quite fair.
Grant: I didn’t go to Frankfurt this trip but I’ve gone there before. The only food places I’ve been to in Frankfurt are a street stand selling sausage, a Nutella cafe (!), and a bakery. Why do you ask??
163 ~ I hate that really bubbly writing that’s impossible to read and apparently it’s a requirement to be popular and since everyone wants to be popular they write like that. Ew. Mine is kind of round when I’m writing slow-ish and really spiky when I’m in a hurry or I feel lazy.
Oh, just curious. Sorry for spelling your name wrong on that last post.
Welcome back Rebecca!! *pies*
170- Ah Nutella = ♥ . We have two costco-sized jars in the garage and a little one open… it’s good on the plain doughnuts dad insists on bringing home…
What?? Look at the HPB!! lt has a nose!
Where are the GAPAs? Oh where oh where… oh. It’s only 9:30 here.
137 (Kagcomix): I had a good time in Germany. What’s the Black Forest like? I still haven’t been there. It’s not toooo far from where my mother-in-law lives so one of these days I hope to go there. I was in a bunch of places visiting relatives. First I was down near Stuttgart in a small town outside of Ludwigsburg — which is an interesting, pretty town with a beautiful baroque palace. Then I was further north in the Eifel region, which has a lot of rugged forest but not a lot else, at least where I was. Then I was in a twilight zonish spa town in the north that has saline spring water pumped over structures that look like tall hedges made of gnarly branches. The idea is to sit on benches set up along the hedges and inhale the salty moist air.
I speak a little German and understand a little more. I am very far from fluent. But I studied a lot before going and I’m glad to say that it really helped.
158- But 6/8 time is so much fun! And you don’t even have to worry about an odd key.
176- ooh, Germany. I know approximately no German and haven’t heard of that much interesting there(but I’d like to know).
Today we have no school for a teacher conference. We played the anthem there in what was kind of a disaster. They liked it, though. First, I got there and we weren’t putting our stuff in cafe A like we always did for every performance of the season. I saw a few other of our trombone cases in a corner of the band room and left my stuff there. Then we went outside because it was the only place to warm up. It’s cold outside. And did I mention- we weren’t wearing gloves or gauntlets or shakos. So my hands were freezing and I’ve grown over the past few months it seems, because when I extended my arm the jacket exposed half my forearm, which I’m sure looked horrible. And a symphony orchestra was playing later, so half (two) first trombones were missing, and many other people too I think. That meant that I was standing next to Brian instead of Katie, which I don’t have a problem with, but Katie is our section leader. It also meant that there were more trombones then flutes. One person in the band remembered a tuner. And as it was so cold outside, we tuned to 20 flat, and had to mostly ear tune. I’m really bad at that, because I can’t really tell if it’s sharp or flat, only different, and when I hear someone else play I match that note. So, anyway, we warmed up and went into cafe C where the people were. And we waited. We were supposed to be in a one and a half step interval but we were right next to each other. Eventually some bagpipes(like oboes, only more so, lower, shaped differently, and it sounded like one was playing >1 note at a time) came in with a flag, we played, trying to watch a drum major, stood at attention, and left. The symphony orchestra was playing in the band room then, and we had to get our stuff from that room in small groups.
Now I’m soaking my trombone, doing homework, and getting ready for this weekend. I hope to re-dye my hair later today (it’s faded to yellow).
I probably won’t be online anytime soon this weekend after today. Maybe Monday afternoon.
(158, 177) I’ve always been especially fond of 6/8 time. Not sure why.
(173) I think you mean “welcome back, Rosanne.” I haven’t been anywhere. I don’t think so anyway. Or if I was, I didn’t tell myself, which rather takes the fun out of it.
And while I’m here…*flings welcome back Obsttorten in Rosanne’s direction*
176- the black forest looks litteraly like something out of a fairy tale! I was in the Alsace over the summer and we visited a bit of it. i love all the towns and stuff that have their own traditional costume such as the alsacian women with the ginormouse bows on their heads!
Hey, questionig-
Im a trumpet player, and I know what u mean about playing in the cold.. It stinks! I think the trombone is cool, so *flings pie into the bell of the trombone* Merry Christmas!
Today, as designated by my friend Curtis, was “Saxophone Friday.” Curtis, a dude named Ben, and I all brought instruments and jammed in the halls between classes and after school. Curtis brought his sax, Ben brought his guitar, and I brought my flute. It totally rocked. No foolin’.
K said yes! *happy*
So. I was asleep for the whole not-school day (and some of it, too) so I wasn’t blogging. I hate being nachturnal (what?).
181-that is rockin’
two more games! both will just be the senior show, because we’re tired of making new shows and they’re both away anyway.
there was a sub in hemmel today :'( so leeny and i actually stayed in math and listened to moosik. oh, also about math i’m SO happy, i got an 89 on the retest (she lets you retake tests if you think you did badly or just feel like it or whatever)
also, we’re making him a new hall of fame cd. every time he thinks an assignment was really really good, it goes on the hemmelgarn hall of fame, and somebody flips the lights up and down and you get to choose a song to play and you pin the assignment/test/essay/whatever up on the wall. Everybody always picks eye of the tiger, so we decided to make a new cd. (i’m up there twice, both for brit lit. one was the middle english ballad that was up here somewhere and the other was tieing for highest score on a test. Leeny’s up there for AP L/C, for a mask she made, and lisa’s up for her essay on a twain thing we read (on the damned human race) for english it’s gone in order of the back row, so the prediction is that max will be next)
anyway, yeah
182-is that being clever or just a misspelling? (nachturnal, i mean) if the first, haha, nice. if not, forget what i just said.
anyhoo, g2g2 band now…it’s at heath, so it’s like an hour-long bus ride *groan* tty’alll. *tofl*
183- It’s scary how your posts echo your away messages…
164- ZOMG, I got in!! I hope you do too. Did you have to to Egg Drop or Science Word Derby as one of your tryouts?
ooh, the dance is tonight! hope i win best costume…
184- No, we had to do a ton of metric stuff with a marble and a bottle (which was easy, since I had Metric last year :D). Then we had to take an 80 question test on science in general. And then we had to build a tower out of straws to hold a foam ball up.
177/178~ Yes, I like 6/8 time. Jigs are always in 6/8. I was just grouching because I had to do it and I’m feeling entirely devoid of inspiration. Also, if I do anything worthwhile, my teacher will make me think up a name for the blasted thing, and I’m bad at naming songs.
Germany sounds neat. I’ve never been there. Actually, I’ve never been out of the U.S. The farthest form home (MD) I’ve ever been was Washington state last summer.
Dang. I always forget to take off the extra stuff on my name.
Please ignore everything in my name except Andrew.
181- that is amazing!
187- What? Oh, my post didn’t post. Never mind, then.
173- XXXXX/ and by that I obviously meant Rosanne. Gah. Sorry, so many R’s around here…
178- X/
181- That sounds awesome. *is jealous* Are your passing periods long enough to do that? And yay flute.
183-Kinda both, because I don’t know how to spell it, but I’m like “well, lets blow it off as a joke anyway it’s not that funny” which it isn’t.
SO the news was just on, and they were talking about a car accedent. And after showing the pictue of the car they mentioned a school, and my dad said “That’s Bre and B’s high school”, who are people on my hockey team. Then they were talking about it and they mentioned a name, and the last name was the same as B’s and we think it was her brother. At least tw people died and he and a girl are int he hospital. I’m sort of not absorbing this right now, it hasn’t sunk in at all and it’s weird. Anyway.
i am CYANIDE!!!!! you know, i think i might actually change my legal name to Cyanide. that would be uber-fr00dy.
193- ……ok?….why?…
Meh. I wanna get better!!!!! because then I can go get my ears pierced. Apparently it’s a bad idea to get ‘elective surgery’ when your sick.
It’s the weekend!!!!!!!!
171 – I know! No individuality at all!
180 – I swear, I must use the phrase “Merry Christmas” at least once a day. Everyone looks at me weird, but it just seems to be so fitting for some things.
186 – I’m horrible at that too, I can think of a song, but never a name. If I my peices ever do have a name, somebody else made it. I love 6/8 and 3/4, they’re what most of my peices are in.
192 – That’s terrible! I hope they get better soon.
186-Yeah, I suck at naming songs, not taking into consideration that I’ve memorized the names, artists and albums of about 400 songs…
193-Uh… you do that…?
192-Oohhh. That’s really sad. Hope they’re okay.
Have y’all heard Switch by Will Smith? *now listning to it*
178- All time where eighth note gets the beat is more fun…I just like triplets. And I have yet to encounter 7/8 time or anything that will scar me forever from it.
180- Aaagh no… I just cleaned the trombone and everything, and this is the last week of marching band. *throws pie in the general direction of the trumpet, inevitably misses by several feet* Happy Chanukah!
183- Only an hour? Honestly, I’m spending half the weekend on a bus, it seems. Hofstra’s like three hours away, Syracuse/Dome might even be four… /complain
Bus rides are fun, though. Especially if you sit near certain people who have recently decided that I am human and entitled to at least some respect, and who are actually pretty cool. Not that this happened last week… I can only hope.
So, my hair has been redyed bright green at the ends, and I saw the simpsons movie today at the second-run theater ($2 movies=fun). I’d wanted to see it, it had some good moments but some less-than-stellar ones. They used profanity, which surprised me at first, considering how the TV show has to be, but after a little while they just sounded like people.
I still haven’t packed overnight things for Dome or normal-competition stuff for tomorrow. Or done any current events work. um… procrastination=fail?
197-Green? That must look interesting.
It’s absolutely pouring here, and apparently in Hofstra too.
They’ve rescheduled all of BOA for later, and of course I found out when I got to the school. Only two performances left in Color Series… if they cancel I’ll be annoyed.
I should do current events work.
198- It is.
197- Green? Cool! My friends think that I would look good with “chartruese” (or however u spell that) hair. I don’t get it.
Beavo- LOVE “Switch”, but i think Will Smith’s a better actor than a singer.
193- Isn’t cyanide a chemical in cigarettes? I just got done a whole unit on stuff like that in health class, and cyanide is a deadly poison!
200 – a chemical compound commonly used as a lethal poison. legal name changes are a really long and complicated process, though. maybe i’ll just make everyone i know call me that.
181- you play flute too????? wow. why do all the cool people play flute? we must be really that awesome!
201- yeah. cool. now i must remember you is cyanide!
160- !!!!!!! My…great great (I think) uncle wrote those books!
ALICE b&n, sometime this weekend. i haven’t been home much at all, and hardly ever at the same time as my parentals, so that’s why you are not happily pressing buttons that say BUYTHISNOWOMGZ
EVERYBODY ELSE i’m reeeeally hyper also i’ll be partying all day today because it’s hewitt’s b-day (blazing saddles and young frankenstein. what a great party that’ll be) and then bill’s halloween party (apples to apples!) so yeah, that’ll be fun.
them partyin’ lutherans are having a halloween party too, but it’s actually on halloween. i’m going to try to get people to go, it’s nightmare before christmas (aah, good movie)
speaking of good movies..E~A! sweeney todd! want to see it NOW! MGZMGZMGZ (who needs O’s anyway?) looks so good. and yes it is johnny depp singing (and yes i looked it up, sad little person that i am)
alsoalso, on the bus ride back i found out that yeti is a TMBG fan! who’da thunk? so we spent the entire time listening to TMBG (and singing…it was scary how we both knew all the words). andy was convinced we were on drugs, but that’s normal for andy. yeti and i both agreed that birdhouse in your soul and dr. worm pwned all. we’re also going to burn each other cd’s cuz he’s got some uber-cool thing with a bunch of songs that aren’t on other cds, and i have a bunch of stuff off limewire, which he doesn’t use.
i have so many cd’s to make…michelle’s getting me to make her cd’s too, and i keep forgetting to bring the blank ones she gave me home because i don’t have enough…
my mouthpiece got stuck again. johnson was like *disapproving look* take better care of your instrument!” i was like “um, it’s cursed. schneids and i figured that out last year when it got stuck every single game. so there” he was wearing a trench, which was pretty scary, especially after the whole “kid magnet” thing (he told us he was a kid magnet…yeah)
speaking of kid magnets, BOTH of the soccer coaches at a school near here were caught messing with the kids on their team. ewwgross.
i’m going to be so tired of people today…it’s the same people going to both parties (mostly). mebbe i’ll leave hewitt’s a bit early and come back here first. although i guess i have to anyway to get a pirate hat. WOOO PIRATES YAY
oh hey, GOT MY MUSE!!!!!! i’m in a caps mood today…anyway it was spiffylicious and PB&J WROTE AN ARTICLE! *clapclap* *isn’t spoiling anything zip ninja mouth*
g2g do the dishes now bye all
I don’t live close enough to CA for that. I’m in Oregon. But it was sort of weird when there were all these fires in CA right after my house burnt down. O.o
186- Last summer? 06, you mean? Because if you were in Washington a few months ago and you didn’t visit me I shall never forgive you.
203- You are extraordinarily lucky. I think. *puzzled* I don’t really see how that makes the slightest difference to your life…hmm…That’s really cool, though!
I’m making my costume for the ball tonight and trying to think about my presentation on Robert Luois Stevenson that’s due on the 1st.
I’m back (not that you care)
i kinda forgot about museblog because of standerdized testing, but i just got another muse.
I just received the banner you made for me, Ag! Thank you! It made my day.
200-Yes, he’s fo sho a better actor.
202-I play flute also, but I loathe it…
I’d agree about name changes. My dad once had a case where a bloke wanted to change his name to Santa Robert Claus. Predictably, it was turned down. I have no idea what the Robert bit was for.
We got two mice today! One is brown, and one is white. They’re both female, so they don’t reproduce or fight, but we named them Frodo and Sam anyway. Nobody *knows* they’re female, so it doesn’t really matter
Is the bidding for those 43 muses ended? I looked for the thread to see when it did end, but it’s not here, so I guess it did.
Anyway. It was B’s brother. He and the driver were airlifted to a hospital. He was in a coma but I think he might be out of it now. I can’t believ she came to the game today, god she’s amazing.
Correction, the docters are keeping him in a coma so they can do stuff without risking putting him under. But things are looking positve so it’s good.
203- arthur ransom? really? that’s way cool!
208- flute pwns!
Well, we have about five minutes in between blocks. We did it before first block started, once again before homeroom, then after school. Flute rocks.
214- bien sur! how long have you been playing?
Sorry, I just have no pleasure in playing any instrument. I played violin for seven years, flute for two, and a cardboard violin for one.
ASDFGASDGFHAS
I GOT LEOPARD
FREAAAAAAAAAAAAAKOUUUUUTTTTTT
i love my OS.
Eight years, my friend, eight years since I first started playing the flute.
218- wow! me too! ew started around the same time! cool! actualy that is very much so!
This is my 6th year of playing flute. We started band in 5th grade back then instead if 6th.
I just had a look at the rare Muses, and I have 2 of those sitting on a shelf not four feet above my head. The sewer/maze one (sans cover) and the meteorite one.
220- cool. i randomly started flute in gr.2 and have been playing ever since.
I wanted one of the sets of the 43 ones, but didn’t remember to ask in time. Mom says I might be able to get those 5 though… I convinced her it was a good deal with the 5 dollers per back issue argument…
(221) A little Muselore: The sewer issue was originally supposed to have a toilet on the cover, but the Smithsonian people vetoed it. The maze cover was fine, but it was everybody’s second choice.
a lot of my muses are falling apart. *sigh* they’ve been read too much i guess….
225-My first muse (Nov/Dec 2005) has its spine all messed up.
226- if that’s the one with the crackpot theories of the earth then we have the same first muses!
Who here ever had a letter of their published in Muse itself? One of mine was in the Dog Issue, the first issue with the FMP. I asked about Devil, which apparently sparked a comeback of the demonic dog. I also talked about Tintin and other things. I could find it in the giant stack above my head, but I’m too lazy right now.
227-Umm, maybe. I think it was called the Exploding Trousers issue. It has a guy with his pants blowing up on front.
229- that’s later though that’s not the Dec 2005
must post before it stops being midnight!
How on earth is there a mosquito in my office [read:closet]?
hah! sorry. wow. i’m never on this late. and i don’t feel tired! i guess my parents will be returning home soon. oh yeh, midnightmy time, not blogtime.
This GAPA is signing off for the night. Maybe Rosanne will stop by to do some moderating, or maybe somebody will develop insomnia and log on for a while. Otherwise, you’re on your own. ‘Night, all.
good night! if no one’s moderating i’ll just close the MB window and stay attached to the scary go round. see y’all tomorrow.
‘Night, Robert.
I am Scrödinger’s cat.
Today I:
-reasearched my extended essay
-went into various local stores I kept meaning to go in
-found said stores sell sweaters, five dollar ties, kilts, and assorted other things including
-the purty earrings I bought
It was magnificent.
229-The exploding trosers issue was probably my absolute favorite since I started getting Muse (Janurary 05? Forensics issue)
217 (Kiki) – Cool! What’s it like?
I’ve been playing piano for 9 years. I didn’t really play that much last year–I had a teacher, but if I wasn’t prepared for a lesson he didn’t really care. And this year I don’t even have a teacher, because I don’t have enought time to practice…but next semester I’m going back to my old, flamablamablous teacher.
my favorite issue is probably all the old ones from when i first started getting muse. i thik they were better back then.
it’s funny, obviously no ones really going to be posting this early in the morning (11:01 for me but 10:01 blog time) and my posts from last night are still on the recent coments!
237- Stores around you sell kilts? I’m so jealous! I really want a kilt.
239- IT’S PWNSOME! W/3D graphixxz and tabbed chats!
Aha! I just found Muse Volume 1, Number 5 (sans cover. The ones I really like end up mutilated in some fashion). Why don’t we have another look and see what else I can find?
1. That Mayan one, which I can’t tell what number it is because it’s missing both the cover and the first page.
2. Volume 3, Number 8 (sans cover)
3. Volume 4, Number 1
4. Volume 2, Number 4
5. Volume 3, Number 10
6. Volume 1, Number 6 (Naked Mole Rats!)
7. Volume 4, Number 3
8. Volume 2, Number 1
That’s about it for now. Never stand on an office chair.
Robert, what does the “J” stand for?
The Chairman rejoices! After carefully inspecting the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Gaboomba and the Who’s Here page, he has found that he is not alone among those from the pre-Museblog era! Oxlin Widdershins, I didn’t know you’d changed your name from Elassë-Adael! And also Wachtelstag Fliegender or whatever it is now! I’m ecstatic that I’m not the only one left!
I find it frequent name changes quite perplexing. I stick with one so as not to confuse people.
224-You should check out the MB Generations threads. They tell all.
The time has come my friends! I feel name changing in the aire.
246- What would you be changing it to?
OMGGG I GOT GARTH NIX’S AUTOGRAPH
AND SCOTT WESTERFELD’S FOR THAT MATTER
OMGGGGG
i shall treasure these pages FOREVAH.
OOOOOOOHHHHHHH
Can we have a scary stories thread while its still October? I have a really good one!!!!!!!!!!!
148-You’re not serious? Can you, like, take a picture and send it to the GAPAs to post on MB so I can print it out and sleep with it under my pillow? (No, not really. Although Garth Nix=love)
I play piano and flute…
250- I wasn’t there. My mom got them for me in New York.
163- My handwriting doesn’t look like the bubbly print most times, but sometimes it does. Some people have actually looked at my handwriting and thought it was a boy’s handwriting. *sigh*
202- Yay flutes!
207- Think nothing of it, Alice.
I’m avoiding homework. I’ve been thinking about what to do for my first NaNoWriMo. I have no idea except that it will have a female main character. We should have a NaNoWriMo thread!
I’ve been freaking out a lot because of loads of homework, clubs, and the fact that I’m a huge procrastinator. I think I should have learned by now to stop procrastinating, but I haven’t. Even if I want to get something over with I can’t until the last minute. Does anyone have some tips for trying not to procrastinate?
244- I believe I mentioned that I’m e~a when MG visited for a bit. Also people refer to me as e~a still. And when the name change actually happened it first went from e~a the sock monkey to widdershins (e~a) to oxlin widdershins. I felt that e~a no longer actually described me very well.
l hate my core teacher. She seems nice, but l just finished a persuasive essay, and now l have to write three literary analysis paragraphs on The Outsiders. Grr.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. My head hurts.
251-A picture of the autograph paper…
I just stole/borrowed/received (okay, was given) fun earrings from my mom that she doesn’t wear anymore. I feel very artistic and cool wearing them… And they actually have matches, unlike most of my earrings, which die or are lost in a really short time…
202~ EVERYBODY plays the flute.
205~ Yes, sadly it was in 06. If I go out there again I will make it a point to meet you. Else I shall never forgive myself, either.
241~ If you get a kilt you will be required to send in a picture with you wearing it. On pain of death by HPBs.
And, since everyone seems to be listing their instruments and length of time playing them, I’ve been playing violin for about 7 or 8 years, celtic/historical music for about 5 of those years.
I have a lap dulcimer, and get it out periodically to make noise, but I’m nowhere near accomplished.
I am currently saving up to buy an English concertina, as I’ve wanted to play it for ages and talking to a re-enactor this summer pushed me over the top and I will not rest until I figure it out.
l don’t play the flute.
260-Yay…
I just saw the first Harry Potter! It was HORRID Is the second better?
261-Skip the second and move on to the 3rd. They change diirectors and the actors are more grown up
254- See “NaNoBraSto”
261: The first is the best, then the 2nd, then 4th, then 3rd, and the 5th is so bad I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy….
The first two were the only two decent ones. 3,4,5 all pretty bad, 5th unbelievably so. I don’t think anybody who hasn’t read the books would understand what was going on, it was so choppy…..(Although since you read the books, you would at least know what was going on probably)
If I hadn’t read the fifth book, I would have had absolutely no idea what on earth was going on in the film. Honestly, it was 138 minutes of forehead rubbing, depressed pubescent whining, and deus ex machina designed to save Harry’s ugly bum from whatever was threatening him at the time.
I have a request: Can we have a thread that has people participating solve a whodunnit mystery? I’d write a short story, hiding small clues within it from time to time, and people would try to guess! Cool huh?
…MB looks weird. It seems to be text-only. Did I click something horrible?
On HP5: I swear, Voldy did the hand-snapping/pointing thing in one of those flashing scenes near the end.
Colleges are Eville. Capitalized and spelled funny. The admissions pages *look* all nice and comforting, but they’re only luring me into a false sense of security, I swear….
I am so tired. I got 5 hours of sleep on Saturday night and then I couldn’t catch up on it last night. I think I’ll go to bed at 9 tonight…
Just in case you guys haven’t heard already, it is my duty to tell you(because I just remembered) that: THE RED SOX WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TWICE IN THREE YEARS!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t worry, this is the only time of year when I actually care about baseball…
269- BOO! we are from chaigoland. the CUBS are the offical baseball team of muse. of the WHITE SOX, if they win the world series.
Hisssssss. l like the A’s and the Giants.
269- That’s four years, by the way, if you count. Not that it matters, but still.
270- Keep dreaming, bro. I’m from chicagoland, too, but I’ll eat my hat if any baseball teams from around here win next year. Or the Bears, either. Some people call it the Bears game; I call it “why do I even bother”. Did you see their last “game”? That was a sad excuse for an athletic event.
I have a nano character! it makes me happy.
also, dan and i are both going to party with the lutherans that night, so we’re going to race home and to our first 100 words like we did last time.
semi-funny story, i’m listening to Amish Paradise right now, and the line “we haven’t even payed our phone bill in 300 years” came just as i was typing”home and to our first 100 words”, and i typed 100 years instead.
So ebeth is really depressed. She hates hw, and doesn’t see that it’s necessary. It’s killing her grades, and she needs to do it more often. </depression>
She’s happy though, because she’s getting Bs on her math retests now (much better than Cs and Ds, no?). Precalc is the devil, but she is doing better.
also, next time she orders pizza, she’s getting it from anthony’s, because donato’s is so LOUD. she could hear the noise through the phone, and she had to repeat everything she said. ergh. anthony’s is usually pretty quiet, and we can just walk down the street and pick it up instead of having to tip for delivery (yeah, ebeth is cheap like that…).
Also, she needs bex. pizza plus on her phone, because they are amaaazing ♥ she keeps forgetting to look it up, because it’s easier just to call some place she already has.
She also needs new music, so go over to the music thread and recommend stuff for her (masterplan is LURVE, whoever gave that to her…glassy? was that you? or FC mebbe? she forgets )
269- Really? Cool.
270- You live in Chicago?
270- no. but I am from the area.
band summaries. May not be the most specific or clear; I’ve had 8-9 hours of sleep in the past two nights combined(sleep on a bus does not count). So worth it. Kind of like mini-essays. It’s been a long weekend.
Hofstra: Got there (for the second time) at 11:50ish. Went to the gym we were practicing in a little after noon, watched Charlie, Brian, and assorted others run at the mats on the walls and othersuch pastimes for half an hour. Practiced awhile. Power went out, triggering the fire alarm for some reason, because our school’s fire alarms have issues. Went out into the rain, back inside the cafeteria, and finally to wait in the buses without our stuff in a confusing series of events. Waited there while people fixed the power line which seemed to have broken near our school… then got our stuff and went back into the buses for the drive. Watched another band perform from a empty space near the bleachers. Changed into uniforms, practiced, etc. We had to go over a pedestrian walkway from the buses to the field. This was a Bands Of America show and not a NYSFBC show, so the announcements and starting were different than I was used to. Confusion is bad. They also had college hash marks and the high school ones marked with tape. Otherwise the field was exactly identical to our home field, even by the same company. I often was confused by the hash marks during the show(because the look exactly the same!) and overall felt bad about the whole thing. After the show we waited forever in a single file line, then stood at parade rest forever while they announced everyone’s scores. This band in our class from Georgia pwned all, pretty much. After, we were given a chance as part of the ceremony to go mingle on the field. We congratulated them and talked to a whole bunch of interesting people. I went with Travis and Brian and Kristen. Then we realized almost nobody else from our band was there, and eventually found three or four other people, and then found the assistant director who told us where everyone was. It was a fun adventure. Then we went home, basically. I don’t recall the ride there; I probably talked with penguini. The ride back I believe I listened to music, maybe, and then tried to sleep curled up. I didn’t get home until almost two, I wasn’t ready for bed until 2:30.
Dome:
Woke at seven, packed the other half of my stuff, got there quarter to nine, because it said to come at nine. Lots of people weren’t there; turns out we weren’t expected to come for half an hour. Three or four people had shaved their heads for Dome(actually, they’d been shaved at Hofstra too). Waited, tried to sleep on a chair(didn’t work. Later I curled up on a table and it was comfortable but Brian criticized it and said I should just sleep on the bus (it was a coach bus) so I gave up). Got on the buses, we had to be silent. There was an empty seat next to me, so I lay out on it and fell asleep. We went to a rest stop for lunch. Whenever we go to rest stops they aren’t prepared for 150 band geeks and there are huge lines. I tried to sleep with earplugs in the rest of the way there and didn’t quite succeed. I think they were playing Transformers but I wasn’t watching. Then we were at the hotel. penguini and I were rooming with two colorguard girls I used to know, Tori and Julie. We are perhaps not the best of friends, but we’re on speaking terms, and they signed up after us. So some random colorguard people were constantly breaking the rules and coming into our room. They were annoying.(paraphrased, but this conversation actually happened) “So, you signed up to be with them?” (me:)”No, they signed up to be in our room.” “Oh, I get it, you begged them to room with you.” “No, we signed up for a room with blank spaces below our names, and they later put their names in those spaces.” (later:*bangs head against wall* Help me!) We dropped our stuff in the room and determined who was in which bed and went to practice, penguini with her clarinet. They hadn’t unpacked big instruments from Hofstra the previous night. My trombone was freezing cold. It was very cold outside. We practiced in the empty hotel parking lot, music and some marching. Then we all took instruments back to our rooms. I cleaned my trombone to a minor extent, wiping the dried raindrops from the fire drill off and regreasing the slide. The spit valve had been dripping at practice, but looking at it nothing was wrong. My current theory is that something that wasn’t supposed to shrunk in the weather temporarily. Then we ate dinner in the ballroom, went to the room and changed into full uniform and set up instruments. Went to buses carrying shakos with plumes in (which we’d gotten from the ballroom) and carrying membership jackets(which we’d been wearing at practice a lot). Went to Skytop, basically a big parking lot, and practiced more there a little while. We were wearing membership jackets over our uniform jackets. It was that cold (around 40 degrees…) (uniform jacket=yellow and black one that’s part of the uniform. membership jacket=puffy black one with “(schoolname) Marching Band” on the back and our name and graduating year on the front (example: mine says Annie ’11 on it), we wear it cold places because it’s warm). Practiced there, were very focused. I start to climb into a frenzy of excitement. thisisgoingtobethebestperformanceever! Take a bus to the actual dome, which is HUGE from outside, go in, warm up a little in the locker rooms, which are warm. Walk through some halls and arrive at a big(two tiers), well-lit stadium which is normal until you look up and there’s a white thing instead of sky. It doesn’t echo too badly. It’s a nice temperature there, my initial impression is that it’s maybe a degree or two warm for marching but much better than outside. Everything is pretty good, I’m confident, it has college hashes which are duct taped, but I’m not worried after Hofstra- when I wasn’t quite sleeping on the bus I was reviewing what it would look like marching the show with the extra hash marks I had to ignore at the place of the college ones. Of course, with all this excitement, I screw up the first turn, which I haven’t ever made a mistake on in the whole rest of the year. Whatever. Don’t dwell on mistakes, the show’s too short. Once I get my obligatory-mistake-a-show over with, it’s a very good show. Then we go do pictures, which I’m jaded about(at Hofstra, we stood at the top of very tall bleachers that didn’t seem very stable forever while everyone else was set up). We just took pictures in the normal stands, it was fine. Then we watched the Syracuse college band perform. It looked easier than what we were doing, slower too. (afternote: in the program it says their band is famous statewide and the only division 1 band in the state. Guess who’s going to college out of state?) Then we stood on the field with all the other bands again for awards in small school 1 and national classes. (we’re national. By the way, we were on last of the competitors.) We took third place, score of 94.45. People didn’t care, although third’s bad for us. People cared more about the band that took second, and that they did. I’ve mentioned them as our enemies before, this wasn’t the first time we lost to them this season. They won for 17 years until 2004. Since then, we’ve beaten them in 04, and some band from Connecticut did in 05, I think. (I know, it’s a statewide competition circuit. I don’t know how either.) This is all what I’ve heard from elders in the section. They won in 06, and again this is what I’ve heard, I haven’t checked, but someone said they’d said on their website that they’d won this year already. This year, they lost by half a point to a band on the other side of the state from us, who’d been steadily getting the best scores for each weekend but hadn’t competed with other national class bands much if at all. And we were ecstatic. We went back to the hotel. penguini and I were two of the first people to enter the hotel, and as freshmen we were rather surprised by what happened when we entered. All the parents were lining the hallway from the door. When we come in, there’s a second of complete silence, and then they start screaming for the band. I don’t know what’s better than people screaming for you. Already, I’m excited for Dome, and marching the whole show always makes me happy, and the awards, having them not win, and now this… it’s amazing, it’s perfect. I wouldn’t miss this for anything, it’s worth everything I’ve done these months and more. I think penguini said she found it unnerving… I love it. We go to our rooms and change out of uniform and go eat pizza and talk in the ballroom. Then the band director talks a little about the season, and we get to see the video of the show we just performed. It evokes all the feelings of playing it again. It’s amazing. We clap, we cheer, we scream. Look at the dress on those lines! (except for the end of part one and right after the drum solo. At the end of the solo our line made me cringe.) And the pinwheels, and you can see all the horns up and down, and horn pops! Our diagonal- it actually is one! Where we go into a curve, that’s so cool! I never realized it was like that! We stay up past midnight reveling there. There’s some fun at the room too, with Tori’s forbidden Halloween decorations. Tori also has spray string which I vehemently hate. After showers, at around two in the morning which we think is three, Julie and penguini and I are exhausted and the room clock’s an hour off. At around two-thirty, we(as in me and penguini; Julie is a passive observer) are forced to physically unplug the phone and threaten bodily harm to Tori because we’re trying to sleep and she’s calling other rooms(we aren’t allowed to leave the room). I gave her time to stop on her own first, and was subjected by arguments that were obvious lies (She does not have a disorder where she has to talk to you. Even if she can’t sleep I expect it to be quietly.) and insulting (me: we’re only going to get like two hours of sleep… her: It’ll be more than that. me: fine it was mild hyperbole. let me sleep. her: why are you trying to sound smart with all the big words? Just because your hair looks like Albert Einstein… me: I talk the way I think. [[wtf? Why do you think insulting me will make me want to let you interrupt my sleep? I’m exhaused and short-tempered right now. And I know my hair is a mess. I really don’t care what it looks like much and what you think of it, I care even less.]])So we all sleep. I am awoken far too soon by penguini hitting me with a pillow at almost 8 am. I get ready fast and we go to breakfast, which doesn’t taste that good. Then I get my stuff packed and out of the room as fast as I can. never. rooming. with. colorguard. again. penguini as key holder has to wait to get Tori and Julie’s keys. I then wait outside by the buses for a time. Some people are playing Twister. It used to be such an innocent game when we were younger. We take an informal picture and spend another several hours on the bus, with another rest stop interspersed. We get to the school again around three pm, after all the normal school buses have left. Some people waiting for activity buses give us weird looks. We get instruments and everything, listen to the director, and it’s over. I go home. We have an awards banquet Friday and meeting-to-turn-things-in, but that’s all.
It can’t be over. I don’t believe that. It can’t be true. What am I going to do the next nine months until it starts again? What’s there to wait for? What happens after school or on the weekends? It can’t be the last time I march the show. I was just starting to get things right! The real season was just beginning! What’s the point of life after marching band? Marching band is life. The only thing I really like in life, anyway. How do I get through a day without knowing we perform again in less than a week? This is why I’m NaNoing, to have there still be something to life, but what after that? I know a new year starts *eventually*, what happens until then? I don’t want free time. I like band.
When homosexual couples (gays and lesbians) get married, do they change their last name?
l assume so.
Sorry for the double post.
Does anyone see the nose on that bunny? Look closely between the eyes.
244-Yes, it’s Queen Julietaini/Queenie J. Still me. You didn’t realize? Hey, remember when we used to write in alphabetical points? That was fun.
276-That was an incredibly long post. You should join Scholastic Bowl team.
277-Depends. Usually no, but people have now begun hyphenating.
264-The first is the BEST? I might as well not watch any of them. Although the fifth looks interesting enough.
Hi! i am not exactly a newbie, as i started yesterday. I must ask a simple question: are elephants smarter than bunnies?
the answer is yes, they most certainly are! Maybe my lime green elephants could rule the musiverse with the bunnies!
MWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
*pies all who object*
by the way, double posting is NOT uncool. maybe i do have the slightest impression that this is somewhat a chat room, but who in the musiverse cares? AND with all i have to say, it would take up all the space in the little box, which is too tiny to even HOLD a pie!!!
;o
will someone talk to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?
agagabagagaga, maybe you were right yesterday. I probably AM uncool by double-posting. so sorry but i will try to change my ways.
Dude, you are a total newbie, (this is what I mean by a condescending attitude…) and will be for as long as you keep that attitude. If you fill up the box, who the zark cares? We encourage it. There’s a little thing called a scroll bar, that will help. Double posting is so uncool that it’s not even funny. Do not do it, or you will be extremely unpopular with all the MBers who have experience on the blog.
283- There’s no limit on how much you post. The box just gets bigger the more you type.
Although I think if you do more than 50,000 words or something, it cuts it off, but I doubt anyone could pack 50,000 words into a post.
So! I think that,um……………..wow this is the first time in FOREVER when i don’t know what to blog about.well, someone will have to bring something up FOR ME!
on second thought……………………………………………..ok no.i might as well get off or play on club penguin. Later musers!
285- Then l was right on the last R&R thread. That was what l meant.
Ok, I’m sorry. I would try to change this, but it is the one point of my personality that I am unwilling to change for anything, unless people would stop being annoying.
(People are going to hate me after this…Just like they hate Penty.
EEK so sorry.tis is my first time blogging so- wait. this isn’t really a blog thing anyway! okso fillin up the thing!
will someone tell me what the “operation harmless” thingy is?
also, is feather a bird or humanoid thingamahoosit?
did i just type that?
283-This is NOT
a chatroom. It’s an intelllegent blog. Have discussions about REAL THINGS, not “omg salli is stuupid” because that’s dumb. And you are still an n00bie, sorry.
for you info i am n talkin bout dumb thing thnx!
The hot-pink bunnies are no ordinary bunnies. Their thought processes, if you can call them that, are so alien that words like “intelligence” may not even apply. What we do know is that they are single-minded, ruthless, and implacable. That combination of traits makes them a force to be reckoned with — and feared.
wow i didnt know!
can we have elephants too anyways?
293- They’re even more formidable because of their enormous cuteness and the many drooling devotees it’s earned them.
A) 280 YES! let’s do that again
B) 277 I suppose it depends on the couple like any other marriage.

Hi! Welcome to MuseBlog. It is a place where people who read the magazine Muse talk about things. Kind of a forum, only with blog software. You are probably aware of different ways to talk online. I think of MuseBlog like I’m writing an email to many friends, or maybe a letter. I try to use proper grammar and punctuation, because it annoys me and many others here if they aren’t used. I admittedly do use IM (lots of us do), and I have horrible capitalization and punctuation there, but this isn’t a place for that.
And I know it’s easy to feel like part of the blog- after a week here, I felt like I had been blogging forever. But please remember that there are people here who are very much senior (The only people I’m not sure have been blogging over a year are Beavo and agagabagabag) and find that kind of thing offensive, especially if you don’t follow blog convention with your posts in an annoying way.
</polite lecture>
With that said, who are you? What are you like?
Who I am:
I’m curious and questioning, female, in my first year of high school in New York (more detail than state the GAPAs won’t let us tell each other). I’ve blogged a year and three months and gotten Muse practically forever. I’m a math geek, I love to perform in theatre and music groups, I play the trombone and I’m in marching band, but you knew about marching band because you read the past few posts before you posted in an attempt to follow the conversation. What my personality is you’ll have to decide for yourself. I blog random paragraphs about life on the random thread kind of a lot, and make appearances on other threads too (right now I try to check Music, Romance and Relationships, Theme with Variations, and NaNoBraSto). My favorite band (to listen to) is They Might Be Giants. I can’t think of anything else about myself…
((Be thankful exhaustion is making me careful not to lash out. I have memorably flamed on the Welcome, Newcomers thread to people… (I was Dodecahedron then. I remember Purple Panda quoted it the next month because I was making valid points… I’ll stop reminiscing. I don’t feel differently now, I completely agree with Glassboro, I just don’t want to scare the newcomers off and regret my impulsiveness(someone, know the word I mean? impulsivity? the quality of not thinking enough before you click “Submit”?).)
*wanders off muttering about n00bs and colorguard, and how she needs sleep to deal with annoyances*))
291- Gaaaah! I can’t take it any more! It’s spelled “intelligent!”
Robert, do I get an answer about what the J stands for?
clarification:(The only people who replied to you recently here I’m not sure have been blogging over a year are Beavo and agagabagabag)
See, we sometimes double post, but only if we have to in correction. We try to put all our thoughts in one post and use multiples as seldom as possible. Sometimes it’s unavoidable, however…
*sacrifices choklit to the bunnies and other various gods of the blog in penance*
wow that was REALLY long
(298) Joseph. I got one name from each of my father’s grandfathers.
(295) Yes, the bunnies must not be underestimated. You’ve seen what they did to the Borg. Midnight Fiddler’s Smiley Story should be required reading for all MuseBloggers.
I have been bolgging off and on (instead of on and off) since March 2006. That is 1 year, 6 Months, 29 days. Approximentally.
I usually post things when the blog has things interesting to me on it. I live in North Carolina, District *. (That’s houseofreps districts) I am a Boy Scout, A star scout. I like calling GAPAS Great And PowerfulAdministrators. Because they read all of our posts. I was on the Chuck Norris side of the First pie war, though I like WD. I am in Chorus, Would like a Halloween thread, so we could discus our costum ideas. Appologizing for misspellings, I really have trouble spelling. I take Latin Intro, am a guy, 8th grade, 13 yrs old, short, red hair, freckles, and have many problems. I also have minimum control of HTML stuff.Things
Oh, and operation Harmless is the muse plan to rule the world, and it is called MOSTLY HARMLESS.
297 (c+q) – That’s a fantastic welcome post! It really explains the blog well!
301 (Robert) – Eek! MF’s smiley story! ::hides::
I carved a HPB on my halloween pumpkin. Everyone is going to think: “aww, so cute and cuddly!”
So little they know…
(302) Hi, neighbor! Well, same state, anyway.
302-oh! latin! yay! I take latin, I’m in 7th grade…I also take chinese.
Do you take to ecce romani textbook?
Here;s a sample:
ecce! in pictura est puella nomine cornelia.
How long do you have to post in order to get your name up on the “who’s here” page? Or is it a matter of how much you post?
Neither. You just have to wait until an Administrator gets around to adding you, something over which you have no control. It usually happens on a weekend.
306- That means something like: “Oh yes! A girl is.. .
297-I’m getting my MB aniversary (it’s a boy!) on March 18th, 2008. Of course, I was blogging before that, but it dosn’t count because it wasn’t continous.
Today in English:
Mr. S: Augustine wrote about the idea of a just war. What is a just war? This comes up a lot in politics. I mean, was it a just war when we attacked Saddam Hussein?
Kid Next To Me: We attacked Saddam Hussein?
*entire class stops and stares*
*teacher drones on*
KNTM: What? I don’t follow stuff like that…
It was kind of funny.
My handwriting is distinctly masculine. Today we had the drawing test (you know, with the tree and the house and fence and so on) and since my tree was far from the house, that means I tend toward masculine characteristics. I’m actually beginning to be concerned.
Changing from a queen into a king would disorient most people.
I ♥ Calvin and Hobbes.
311- I wouldn’t be concerned, Queenie J. (I’m going to call you that because that’s how I know you. What I learn people’s names as is who they are to me forever.) You oughtn’t to worry about that. I’m rather more flexible than some of my friends who are girls, and girls are supposed to be the flexible ones.
I have boy-ish handwriting. I occasionally act boy ish. I don’t understand high heels or make up. Getting dressed up for dances seems silly to me. I’m boy ish. I took dance lessons for 10 years. I enjoy buying items of clothing. I cry more often than most. I’m girl ish. But both of those sets of things are just my relation to various stereotypes, nothing more. I’m not actually boy ish or girl ish, I just occasionally fit a stereotype.
Oh! I just noticed my name on the “who’s here”! Thanks, GAPAs!!
If this ends up being a double post, then I apologize.
Today in music (not band, the class), my teacher had an absolute meltdown. This is what happened. I say, “Mrs. *****, I think that you think we’re rushing, because you’re counting slowly.”
She says, “Andrew, don’t get me started on you!” What?!! What did I do wrong? Anyway, that isn’t the meltdown. Then, as I’m clapping the beat of the sheet music, she yells, “Get out into the hallway!! NOW!!”
“But I was only clapping!”
“GET OUT until you can show me some respect!”
Needless to say, I didn’t go back into the classroom.
306 – I take Latin too. I think that means “Look! A girl named Cornelia is in the picture.” I used the Oxford Latin Course, which is very strange. All that the character Horatia does in the whole textbook is eat, carry big urns, and lie in the middle of the road.
285/291) wow since when was this a serious internet website
everyone is new once and it’s the internet for goodness sake
jeez
315- That’s a much better way of putting it. I couldn’t think of the exact way how I could.
So I recently realized that the fun about talking about the blog is greatly intensified when you refer to it as a “secret organization”… really doesn’t have to be that cliche sounding, either… just “ah, I was talking to this girl in my org the other day.”
“what org?”
“oh. I can’t tell you.”
I greatly annoyed a boy in my English class by doing that. At one point he was saying we had an underground meth lab based in washington.
Um, on a, uh, completely different note, I have this fantastic idea for if we ever need to raise money for MOSTLY HARMLESS…
Robert Goulet has died! Just this morning!
301~ Wow. My smilie story is on the required reading list for MBers?!?! *goes to writing more SSSSs since I’m so good.*
Handwriting? I dunno. Mine is “Horrible” I’m not sure if it’s boyish or girlish. What it isn’t is loopy, round or curly. It’s more just quickly written and messy.
322~ What? Who?
So, yesterday my Social Studies teacher referred to this town as ‘our 16 square mile bubble with reality out…there.’ which I think might make you all giggle. And now Robert probably knows exactly where I speak of, because who else dares defy California as we have, hmm? Anyways. I dare you all to come up with a way to save me from the big poofy quince dress. I’m scared already.
Yikes – we just had an earthquake here! At about 8:04 pacific time. It was an estimated 5.6 on the Richter scale, centered in San Jose. It shook for about 20 seconds, which is longish. Luckily it wasn’t terribly violent. I’ve been listening to the radio and haven’t heard about any injuries.
I haven’t felt an earthquake in years. There haven’t been any biggies in the San Francisco area lately. Set off memories of the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989 that Robert and I both experienced when we lived in Santa Cruz., Calif., right near the epicenter. That one caused highways and the Bay Bridge to collapse — not to mention lots of buildings. About 60 people died. This was nowhere near as bad as that!
Woa, a wake-up call for me to stock up on earthquake supplies.
G’night all.
326- Eep! I’m glad it wasn’t bad. *virtual choklit* Which reminds me…
Our new band room (squee) is in the new wing (and we’re the only class in the wing) and is still right next to a lot of construction. Yesterday and today it would randomly start to shake and vibrate, on and off, to the point where the stands were rattling and we all stopped playing and looked around nervously. It reminded me of Jurassic Park, the part with the jello… I spent the time between rests planing evacuations for a possible cave-in/raptor attack.
326- Yeah! I just felt it a bit ago! Despite having lived in California my entire life, I’m prone to completely missing earthquakes, but this one shook my bed… wish I was back home for it (I live quite close to San Jose), alas, I had the mini 10-second shake light shaking that comes from living two hours away
306- I LOVE THAT BOOK.
326- Eek!
328- Lyk omg! We’re under construction too! For a new wing! But we can’t play in the field because that’s where the construction is so we put up fencing in the front so we can play there. meh.
We got a new high school last year. They waited until it was entirely finished before letting us anywhere near it.
Arrrghh, play practice caused me to completely miss trick-or-treating. At least I went to school dressed as an 18th-century English sailor.
OMG, scott westerfelds autograph????????? LUCKY! kiki, you are the direct object of envy from me.
326) Glad you’re okay! Boy do I hate earthquakes…
“trick or treat!”
this is a pie calling. splat me.
